summit early learning center was established in 1976 as a direct ministry of broken arrow assembly in an effort to minister to the needs of families and children in the broken arrow community. our prayer is that these young children will become adults who contribute in meaningful ways to the world around them, and will experience the fullness of god’s perfect plan for their lives. there are many opportunities for open-ended activities that pique children’s natural curiosity and engage them in the learning process. our center provides an atmosphere that is conducive to developing the whole child, providing a solid foundation for development in the cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual content areas. the bible lessons include songs, activities, and stories to engage children. our 3s, 4s, and tk also have a weekly memory verse that they practice each day. summit early learning center is dedicated to providing a healthy, well balanced diet. summit early learning center encourages parents to participate in our program in several ways.
parents are welcome to visit their child/children at any time during the day. parent access to our facility is currently closed due to covid-19 precautions. this is for students who have just missed the cutoff for kindergarten or need another year before starting kindergarten. although some students may be academically ready for kindergarten, they many need time to work on impulse control and social skills. tk allows students time to build a strong foundation, combining social and emotional experience with academic learning. tk provides families an additional option to ensure their children enter kindergarten with the maturity, confidence, and skills they need to excel. we also provide holiday and summer care options for these students. our summer care program for elementary age students (k-5) is one of the best in town.
we offer emotional and spiritual support to parents and families. we are a non profit program that is a mission of the summit church and we are licensed by the state of colorado. we recognize the unique worth of all god’s children regardless of their race, sex or cultural background. we serve families with children 6 weeks old up through 5 years old. we operate year round and have six classrooms. we also close for 2 teacher development days and some days in the summer for summer break.
this bright new area is specially designed to meet the needs of our youngest children and their families. this is a year round program with full and part time spots available. one is designed for 1 year olds and the other is for 2 year olds. here we offer a balance of play and structure that introduces children to the prenumber and language experiences, routines and other concepts that will prepare them for a lifetime of learning enjoyment. we have a lot of fun at our school and through daily bible stories, prayers and verses, the children see how god is part of their everyday life. we feel that children are precious gifts from god and that the early years are so important in developing lifelong values and skills.
