every day, our mission is front and center: we partner with families in all that we do and believe that parents are the experts on their children. all of our services are provided at either low or no cost to eligible children and families. home visiting hselp provides weekly head start home visiting for pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in all counties. in our home-based program, we offer weekly play-based learning activities in your home, which are tailored to your child’s interests and needs.
a family advocate is made available to work in partnership with you and your family to provide individualized support to you and your family. at hselp we understand that the child’s parent is the most important person in the child’s life and that it is our role to support the whole family in a strengths- based, individualized and culturally competent way. as a head start program, we rely on your experience and leadership as we continually work to enhance our services. the groups are a way to build community among our parents as they engage with each other and share in the experience of parenting young ones, support the parent-child relationship, and provide tools to decrease parental stress. in head start, we provide thousands of meals and snacks to children each month – in accordance with our federal funders, we comply with the usda non-discrimination statement, and we encourage participants to read it here.
notice (updated 3/22/21): cai early head start/head start is offering limited in-person classroom slots following eec guidelines set forth on june 12, 2020. children whose parents are working or have a documented need for full-day care are prioritized. we currently have virtual openings for head start preschool, early head start home-based program, and our pregnant woman program. this program offers: cai hs/ehs is federally funded by the administration for children and families. we are a member of the national head start association, the new england head start association and the ma head start association. cai head start annual report 2018–2019 the cai head start and early head start programs are currently accepting new applications for children ages 0–5 years old.
these programs serve families in the greater haverhill and newburyport seacoast area. our classroom centers are located in haverhill and newburyport and are licensed by the department of early education and care (eec) and are accredited by the national association for the education of young children (naeyc). all children ages 0–5 are eligible for cai hs/ehs if they meet the federal income guidelines. there are no fees, however, families that are enrolled in the full day/full year center-based program will have fees based on the ma eec sliding fee scale. when school is in session (160 days) parents will pay a part-time rate.
